I've been on a sled twice in my life, both this year. First trip to Revy, anf second trip to Mcbride. I found the learning curve to be over 10x what I expected and that much more physical too.
The Mcbride trip ended poorly for me. I ended up having to make a climb that I couldn't pull off and crashed through the trees coming back down. It was a spot I shouldn't have been in and no one, including myself, is really to blame - we all talked about it and everyone there took a lesson home with them.
In the end, I pretty busted up. Of course, not as bad as some of you crazies out there, but I have bruised ribs, broken right hand, broken left arm, shattered left wrist, and worst of all was the tear in my brand new Klim jacket. Check out the hardware they put in my left wrist.
Man, I was look'n forward to giving sledding a shot all summer, but after two trips, I'm thinking I may just save a little extea hill/pow for all you fine folks.
