Any comments on the new Canadian policy of disclosing financial information to the IRS from dual citizens?

Its complete BS, but they are supposed to only give information to the IRS when it is specifically requested by them for the purposes of investigating tax evasion, so most shouldn't be affected.

But those affected could always renounce their US citizenship. After further research apparently they charge $450 to do that so...

You can not choose your place of birth. There are a lot of us dual citizens that are not that by choice!

Sure they are. You can renounce one or the other. Just make a decision! Just my opinion of course. Really means nothing to this thread.
