6 year old has been bugging us all winter to got to the Tyrell. Going to surprise him next weekend with a trip down.

What is the best campground to stay in dowm there. Would like something with firepits so he can have a campfire too.

there is one we stayed at along a river, but i think it was right in town. has hundreds of bunny rabbits running around, dog was beside himself.....nice place tho, arcade and laundromat, showers, pretty nice place. no dogs taller than your knees it says on the sign, but we talked them into letting us stay with our standard poodle.

I can't comment on the camping, but the museum is neat for sure another neat thing that my 8 year old got a kick out of is the old coal mine site. I found that almost as interesting as the museum, just make sure you drive down to the back
mine site it's not marked well. Can't think of the name but it's closer to drum and on the way to the museum.
Make sure you have a look for the the cactus! Kids think thats cool!

Another thing you could do if your coming from the north, turn east at Olds on the HWy27 go to HWY 21 go south then go east again on 27. Then turn south on hwy 837 then on your left side watch for the Government of Alberta Ministry of Transportation: Ferries Bleriot Ferry cross the river there, its free to cross.
Then follow the 838 south right to the museum. Scenic route and the the Ferry is pretty cool for the kids to see!
