Absolutly agree. Here is a system I put together myself years ago. This stereo was built to be capable of High fidelity realalistic(concert level sound) Full range 20hz to 20,000hz. This room sucked. which didn't help the sound(lots of reflections) but later on In a different house I had a pretty good room setup too. I lisen to stuff on that stereo that I wouldn't lisen to in a million years on a lesser system and found out how poor of quality some recordings really are. This got stolen out of a van when I was moving tho. Its one of a kind so if you see it around let me know.Cool, music if your tastes are varied depending on activity, mood, state of mind one can always find a genre to suit. Blues seem to be ambient while tasking, such as rebuilding turntables or fixen quads. Other times I find Metal great for hard production type work. I would encourage everyone to listen to a high end system, it might turn out to be a whole new appreciation for genres one otherwise wouldn't have even considered. Unfortunately on a scale of 1-10 the majority of newer popular music is so ridiculously over compressed that there are no dynamics. A prime example would be to take an original 70's recording play it then grab something popular from the mid 90's on and without touching the volume see how much louder the newer recording is.
Just another caffeine induced rant...maybe
