Dog Theft in Alberta/Western Canada

Some of you may not be aware just how prevalent dog thefts are these days. Especially right in our own back yards right now with Karin and Catherine Adams staying in Olds.

As you may know, they are not our only local animal abusers and thieves. Recently, reoffender Patricia Moore from the Evansburg area is facing an additional 60 charges.......60!
April Irivng known for the Milk River dogs has recently been arrested after skipping the country.

Unfortunately our current laws suck and not much can be done even though the Adams and an accomplice were seen loading up dog crates on January 25 in Olds.

There has also been many attempts in the last while to steal dogs right out of gated yards so please be vigilant. Also please be vigilant if you are selling or rehoming animals as they pay very close attention to Kijiji as well as FB buy/sells. They have a long list of aliases and are constantly trying to gain access to groups with animals so if you are a group admin on any pages please keep an eye out!

The one way that we can hope for a change is to flood your MLA, Premier, Minister of Justice and any other political figure that may be able to help with letters demanding that our laws be changed.

Lots of reports of them selling sick puppies, sick dogs....flipping "free to good home" animals or using the unaltered ones to breed and generate $$$ while leaving them in horrible conditions. Selling for bait, breeding and gawd only knows what else.
Karin went as far as to pose as an animal control officer to get dogs in Innisfail in 2017.
Not just dogs either, horses, cats, birds and even fish.
Bitches be right fawked up.

Chronic repeat offenders, they mock the justice system, yet they continue to let them go with next to no punishment. Fools they are. Maybe some of these owners should sue the judge and prosecutor.

There’s a reason why the gates to my yard are locked and I don’t advertise that I have 3 dogs (German shepherd, boxer cross and a collie cross). It’s sad that a person has to go to those measures

Wayyyy easier to catch.Much harder to make cream of coyote.seriously though one of my neighbors German shepherds went missing (dognapped) not cool.

I was sad that my dog is leary of people but now that I read this, I am glad. He is so smart. He's an outside dog but I can't wait till he's older and I can bring him in, bath him and snuggle with him. I got sappy there. Love him sooooo much!
