Dog lost on pond

Any ideas my parents 8 month old blood hound suddenly went missing in there fenced yard. There 5 dogs always stick together and are usually in kennel. They go our for daily runs on there large acreage. They have airation holes for the trout pond and none of the dogs go near the holes. Today it looks like Kimber went too close and is gone. Now I need an auger and some help.

That sucks! But better then a kid or any family member. There’s a reason why fines are so big if you don’t have an aerated pound secure.

Right Neil, there yard is very secluded and 8’ fence. I mentioned that we should put a snow fence there a while ago. He shut off both airation pumps so that will be it for the fish. I may make a box and put over one hole this weekend. My mom keeps walking around the yard calling for kimber.

Tomorrow going to get some pallets and build a big raft. Then cut many holes in the ice with chain saws. Will also tie off for protection They were to go to palm desert on Monday, hopeing to do a recovery before then

Ask all your friends if they got an ice fishing camera. There’s some good ones out there that will see a long ways if the visibility is good. Fish will live probably till spring now.

On two extension ladders. I’m just going to order a underwater drone on line. Rush it.

Sorry to hear about your pooch. Be damn careful on ice over that pond. The aeration system makes that ice porous and very unsafe. As much as that critter meant to your family, it’s not worth a human life to recover it’s body.
Talk to the local fire department. They might be willing to help you out by running an exercise on the ice. Working on ice like that is best left to professionals with the proper equipment.

We do ice/water rescue training each year, Lots of liabilities when doing it.

Best bet in this situation is underwater ice divers.

We are only drilling holes around the shore and where the ice is thick. Not taking the risk by going on thin ice
