Hey Boys
I was in Allen Creek on thursday the 1st and my worst fear was realized...what happens if someone gets hurt back here? Well it was my day to find out. Sled got stuck on an up hill and when I gave her a tug to roll over she came right back at me and removed my knee cap from its original position. Well I screamed to high heaven and realized how screwed I was. Two of my buddies pulled my sled down to me and helped me on. We were around 20km from the cabin and another 8 from the truck. Two hours it took me to pick my way out unable to move on my sled and looking out the space between my handle bars and hood! I made the parking lot and thanks to all the sledders (don't remember who was there) for helping me into the truck. Worst pain of my life and cant believe I rode out...but what can you do? Here are some pics of the knee... hope you didn't just eat!

Ouch!! :yikes: That must hurt and feel awkward. Tough to ride 28 km with that. I broke my tail bone 2 years ago and rode back. How did they fix, sugery? Im suprised your allready on here talking about it. Hope your leg gets better soon and that there are no long term affects from that..

Well just to put your minds at ease the ride at the end of march is just to take out two new investors as Steep and Deep mountain tours will be available for next season. Just to show the area no play time or me as I will be riding motocross this summer! Thanks for all the support and the well wishes guys it helps ease the pain. So make sure lots of ride shots get put up here for me to look at at home. I also will be on a cruise threw the next 10days March 9th to the 18th so that will be some great R&R... I will be back and next year with my own tour company for advanced riders... Watch out for Shifty...

Ouuccchh!!!

Man That Sucks:( ..... I Bet The Pain Was Unreal. Did They Just Pop The Knee Cap Back Into Place??? A Friend Of Mine Had That Happen At One Of Our Ball Games Several Years Ago, And We Popped The Knee Cap Back Into Place And Then He Went To The Hospital, Just For Them To Release Him And Say They Couldn't Do Anything For Him, Except To Use Crutches And Keep It Levitated And Iced. Hope Your Cruise Goes A Little Better.................:d

Accidents??

I SHOULD POST A PIC & X-RAY OF MY LEG, ANKLE, FOOT AND WHAT THEY LOOKED LIKE WHEN I TRIED SKATE BOARDING A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO(42 YEAR OLD SKATEBOARDER -- BUT USED TO BE GOOD BACK IN THE 70'S/80'S). I STILL HAVE 2 PLATES AND 14 SCREWS HOLDING THE RIGHT ANKLE, LEG TOGETHER.

Here is the link to the X-Ray:

Link So X-Ray

Ric, I've added the link to your X-Ray.
I still remember your foot at a 90 degree angle to your leg and your telling us that you could get up and walk. Good thing you didn't.

It happened in December and im still usin a cane to get around. Well hopefully with all the steel they put in me Ill be harder to break next time.

HEY JAY007: THEY TOLD ME MY LEG/ANKLE/FOOT/ WON'T BREAK IN THE SAME PLACE BECAUSE OF ALL THE TITANIUM, JUST BREAKS IN A DIFFERENTA PLACE. IT'S TEMPERATURE AND BAROMETRIC SENSITIVE... ALMOST LIKE A HUMAN BAROMETER(CAN TELL IN ADVANCE WHEN THE WEATHER IS CHANGING) --- DIFFERENT TYPE OF MINOR PAINS. NOTHING CAN'T LIVE WITH THOUGH.

Hope the knee is getting better, looks like you did quite the job on it. The EMT in me wants to tell every one to have a first aid kit with them in these backcountry areas, not that it would have helped much, also people doing these kinds of sports should also have some type of first aid training.

I can't tell the weather changes yet, but it sure takes a lot longer for the area to warm up after being outside in a cold day!!! And the doc's told me that i might as well look forward to the years of arthritis i am going to have!!!
