My 09 jk wrangler unlimited with the older trusty 3.8 v6 and 4 speed auto gets 12l per hundy averaged by lieometer, and has 350000 km on it

Which is pretty good for a square box lol

That’s the best I have heard.
Ours right from new averaged 16.8 and worse.
Had a recall for a o2 sensor for poor fuel economy. Lol
Didn’t do a dam thing .
It had the older 3.8 and 4 speed auto .

they gained 40% fuel economy switching to the pentastar in one model year lol... Gained a bunch of HP while doing it. I want a JK but not sure how well itll do with my boat behind it.

All 2010 Wranglers get the 3.8-liter V-6 with 202-horsepower and 237 pound-feet of torque.

2013
producing 285 horsepower at 6400 rpm and 260 pound-feet of torque at 4800 rpm.

And that's all stock, tires, dirty air filter and all, and been a long time since I cleared the m. P. G so that includes this last winter

I drive 100 km a day on mountain roads with a pass either way, and do 110 plus, don't piss around on passing lanes either

Now using coop or shell fuel makes about . 3-.5 l per 100 better

And new plugs about the same, actually dropped to 11.9 on the way home

Do you think with the manual trans it would be any better? Been throwing around the idea of a 2dr wrangler with the 6 speed...

I don't know to be honest, just having the one extra gear doesn't sound like it would. Without my trailer I have no complaints since it is a box going down the road it gets 12L/100 ish. With my trailer and Rhino it was closer to 16. I more surprised with it dropping down to 3rd.

You cant go by the feel good meter, you have to hand calculate to get an accurate reading.

My son & I were just comparing mileage on our trucks this evening. We both have GM 1500's with 6.2L, 8 spd.(He has a Chev, mine is a GMC)....

It keeps track of average fuel economy in the last 50km, the last 100km and the last 650 km.

I set my cruise on the way home this evening from Edmonton (roughly 80km trip) at 102km/hr and got home with 8.6L/100 (last 50km ave) ...9.6L/100 (last 100 km ave) and 12.2L/100 (last 650 ave)....he is actually getting a bit better with his.....overall quite satisfied with the large 6.2L getting that kind of mileage......

My 1 ton duramax gets the same....
