Went there once and could not find any good trails. Where do you stage at to get to the good trails? We staged at the first opening on the right side of 460. There was sign there and some shacks. I have been told there is good trails there. How far down the 460 do you go? Please help!!

During the summer months it's pretty hard to get very far without dead ending in skeg or miniature lakes. Way more fun in winter when you can actually put some miles on. At least that's my experience. I assume you were staging at Rose Creek. Most of the riding I've seen in there is SW from there towards the river.

Here are some trails I have taken, as stated lots of dead ends but an entertaining day can be had.
We stage at that old cross country skiing spot with the cookhouse, you can go north from there on various trails or go out the entrance and turn west and follow trails all the way to the river and north/south at the river, lots of washouts along the river will turn you back or try to work around to where the trail is on the other side of the washout.

Personally I prefer to go a few miles north to Blue Rapids, lots of good trails but no overnight camping. Here are our trails there.

I guess it depends how far you want to drive. A bit of travel doesn't bother me, so I like to head South or West of Rocky Mountain House. Closer to Edmonton there's Long Island Lake, Vega, Stanger Hills, Brazeau, Redwater, Bruderheim, Iron Horse Trail (Smokey to Bellis), Two Hills Cougar Patch. Of course, there's always Alberta Beach too (Hell's half acre), but that area is getting a lot of traffic, is becoming nearly unridable in spring/summer, and a lot of people are disrespecting the locals that live there - I recommend just avoiding that place altogether.

Howdy y’all, Curious to know if any of you guys know of a certain riding area around fawcet/Westlock area for dirtbiking/atvs. I used to go there as a kid, and now that 20 years have past I can’t remember for the life of me where it is.
what I do remember though is that staging is just off a highway (can’t remember hwy either) and that there was or still is a guy named Larry that lives/lived in the bush. From what I recall he was just kind of squatting there. (Very friendly guy) If anyone has rode this place they would have for sure seen or met the guy and know what I’m talking about. Also I remember helping out with some hare scramble races that were held annually.
Huge TIA for anyone who can point me in the right direction

You are thinking of Long Island lake just north of the dap corner. It’s a good area but you got to go a bit farther to stage as the first staging area is now for horses. Larry is no longer living in the bush he passed a few years back

Take hwy 44 North and follow the signs to Cross Lake PPK at Dapp Corner. Turn right at hwy 663. It will make an 's' curve, shortly after you will see a fair sized staging area on your right. From there you can go south to the Westlock south trails, or cross the highway to the North loop. The north loops connectors to the Trans Canada Trails are blocked by new fences. Haven't found away through or around them yet.
