one of my first jobs in high school was in a restaurant kitchen. I learned to never, EVER send food back....unless you are leaving without eating it.

I used to pump gas at a Petro Can beside a humptys... still cant eat at one.. the nasty-ness that goes on behind closed doors

Awesome clip of road trip I actually watched this not long ago.

Sent from my iPhone while wishing the snow was gone so I can go dirt biking.
I just threw up in my mouth a little......

Only time I've ever sent food back is at nice restaurants where my standards are a little higher due to price and even then probably only 2-3 times ever.

I would think in a high end restaurant a guy would be safe, but where cooks and kitchen staff are only making $14/hr it's not a good idea.

Nope not even at a high end restaurant. I worked at a county club where the chef would do some nasty thing to dishes that got sent back.
He won a few Culinary awards and was paid very well. I will never send something back unless I am not going to eat any more.

Never nope. I've seen a few chefs that believe in redemption. Not appealing!

Why do these cooks feel the need to do gross **** to the food? Do they hold themselves in such esteem that they feel they can do no wrong?

Nicer restaurants - yes.
Cheap ones and bars... I won't eat it and let them know why. I'm always nice about it and they almost always take it off the bill. It's not like I ate half of it.
Funniest I've ever seen. My sister inlaw noticed the kid at Wendy's wasn't wearing his gloves. She looked at him and asked " did you just touch my burger with your bare hands?" Poor kid but I couldn't help but laugh.
