Ok what is everyone doing or using to get these dam plastic caps off the shaft for a track change. I got some scrapers and pry bars and fight with these eveytime. Anyone have any other suggestions?

i use a cheap dent puller with a screw end. always make sure to screw it into the end thats not on the chaincase side. simply pop the brake side out. then i use a metal rod to pop the chaincase side out.

just cant do it to the chaincase side otherwise fluid will get into the internals of the shaft. brake side doesnt matter. sometimes ill throw a bit of silicone in the end i screwed into just to stop water and debris.

Never had to remove them for a track change or driver change for that matter. Why remove them?

pressing drivers they need to be removed.

also,

good shops that have pressed my drivers on have measurements that push the driver cogs right to the outside of the windows so the track doesnt wander side to side. rather than being centered like the factory ones. by doing this it doesnt allow enough clearance to get the driveshaft back in because the driver hits the tunnel sooner. so you need to remove the plugs to get that extra 1/4" clearance to pop the driveshaft back in.
