Do Albertans really hate BC because of our government's stupidity?

It doesn't matter to me Dan. Its way higher so everyone hauls there own fuel out now.

I don't blame you at all. I pack light and I really like the owners of the Big Eddy gas station, so I don't mind supporting them one bit.

Yep and you pretty much live there in the winter so hrd to run anything but BC fuel and goods. We are only there 3 days every 2 weeks.

We might be one of the few that don't let the government influence our travels. Granted we stay as far away from the lower mainland as possible. But in Northern BC where we often frequent the people are very much like us, down to earth hardworking folks just trying to earn a living. I don't feel bad spending money in their businesses.

On our next trip however I do plan to get a slip tank and burn Alberta fuel as much as possible, the taxes are outrageous. We were also up the Alaska highway this summer and found out the the Federal Government maintains the road, BC collects the fuel tax on the stations along the route to use elsewhere in the province and the rest of us Canadians pay for the road.

We stick to Northern BC. As mentioned, they have the same ideologies as my family does. We have no problems spending our money in Tumbler Ridge. I do have issues with southern BC and their ideas. Unfortunately for them, we won’t spend our money down there. We were planning two weeks of motorbike riding in Southern BC this summer but with their Govt and protests we decided to head to Montana and Idaho.

our family is in BC a lot, summer and winter. basically live there. We refuse to participate in the messed up government and the crazy prices whenever possible. Always pack our food and fuel from alberta. Anyone spending significant time going to and from would do the same as it adds up quickly.

that said if things were more inline with everything else just imagine what the study would really show!

I don't hate BC or anyone living there. I quite enjoy visiting, I don't think there is anywhere better in North America for biking and sledding. it's unfortunate that such a small area of the province dictates what is politically best for the rest of the province. I know people from northeastern BC that are more "Albertan" in their thinking than I am.

I don't think they are gouging tourist on gas price in Revelstoke. It is just more expensive in BC because of taxes and trucking it through the mountains.

30 cents a Liter more than Alberta on average Id say.
It's the tourist tax the city puts on everything in revy, that makes it all more expensive than sicamous, known fact

I still travel to BC for business and snowmobiling, but unfortunately, the current BC government has made it very challenging for many Albertan's that are in the Oil and Gas business and the morale for BC in my circles of friends is at an all time low. I have at least 5 friends that chose to boycott BC the last 2 years for snowmobiling and vacations and this will continue until things change. They will spend extra time and money to ride else where. I'm sure that the Sled towns in BC are hurting, just as much as many smaller communities that rely on oil and gas as their main economy in Alberta, its too bad that all will lose.

Join Eds gas club in Revy. It’s on Hwy. 23 south. Usually 10 cents a litre less than normal pump price and 13ish cheaper on first Wednesday of the month.pricing is dependent on volume and which type of payment option you choose. Check it out on FB EDS GAS CLUB. Costs 20$/ year to join which you pretty much get back in a couple fill ups.You can get more than one card.

Also don't hate BC. Your politics are what gets me. I spend most weekends in the Kootenays but try to never buy anything. (Its killing me to not stop at fernie brewing!) Also, it's a little annoying hearing all the 'stupid or damn Albertan' comments from a small minority of locals who say they hate us being there but are now whining that we aren't spending our money there. I was born in BC and parents live there.

I really love Fernie Brewing too!!!! Campout and Hit the Deck are my 2 faves... oo and project 9 too. The Nelson Brewing company has some awesome beer too. We'll get it figured out. I do have faith in the next election. I think more people than ever before are committed to voting. We've lived through some pretty difficult times the past few years, and really need balanced leadership and science based conservation decisions.

If you go to the Yahk Soap company (where the goats are on the roof) you'll find soaps made with Fernie Brewing beer!

Just sayin - I never stopped going to Alberta when you guys had NDP in power ( I actually felt sorry for you) Not all BC residents support the nutbar activists in the lower mainland and on top of that its a contrived government of NDP/Green that did not have a majority. I welcome all Prairie people to Revelstoke.
