For those of you with the crappy front drum brakes like on my Foreman, have any of you swapped over to the disc brake kit from SuperATV? Was it hard to install? Any tips or pointers I should know about?

I just ordered the kit yesterday and it should be here by Friday.

Make sure you've got 12" rims on that thing....

Mine had stock 11's and the wheels would not clear the disk brake conversion.

Only hiccup was the studs... a press is really nice

Yep, I have 12" wheels and access to a press. You must have a Rancher, never could understand why they put 11" rims on the front of those things.

No, I don't think so, mines an 04 and it came with 12's and so did the '92 300 4x4 and 2x2 I owned prior to that. Almost all my friends own Hondas, their Rincons, Rubicons and Foremans all have 12" front wheels. Not sure why Honda went with an 11" wheel on the front of the 400. I'll have to ask my hunting buddy if his came with 11"ers. What year is your 400?

Strange, I never knew the 400's came with 11" wheels all the way around. Makes it harder to find good tires if you don't switch to 12"ers. I bought the 300's used so they must have swapped them over to 12"ers before I bought them. Looks like they didn't start running the 12" tires/wheels until '98.

How do you like those Mudbugs? How do they handle on the trail or hardpack?

they are kinda rough on trail/hardpack, but i think any big ripping tire would be. awesome in the mud and worked pretty good fopr pushing the snow this winter as well, until it got -25 or colder then they sucked but everything does at that temp.
had them for about a year now and really like them so far.

That's a bummer, A lot of the trails I ride to get to the good areas is mostly hardpack and I need a smooth riding tire, I might have to still with the Mudlites then.

I got the kit yesterday, got it all installed but there were a few things they left out on the instructions. No indication of removing the old plate that holds the brake cylinders or the vent tubes that go to them. I know they need to be removed but they should say that in the instructions.

Overall it was a pretty easy install but just a bit time consuming. Sure feels strange having front brakes now. Now to get those back brakes working again. Anyone know what size that castle nut is on the rear wheels?
