Ok so I just looked in my gas tank and I see dirt at the bottom of the tank. It doesn't looking like a a lot but its still there. Should I drain the tank out and if so how? or will the fuel filter catch this dirt??

Thanks

drain the tank and clean it out, also drain the carb float bowl. why take a chance. filter or not any dirt or water will end up in your motor, spells new motor rebuild.

Go get your self a hand suction pump and put a hose on the end, put it into the tank and suck out the dirt.

If its not a lot of dirt I wouldn't worry about it UNLESS you have a EFI atv, as they do not have fuel filters.

Also on a side note, when changing an/your atv filter, clamp off the inlet hose to the filter so when you break suction the dirty fuel doesn't drain back to tank. Then you can turn the host upside down into a rag and tap it to see if anything comes out. That is of course if your filter is located above tank level.
