So, got a little shock today, insurance for the 3 dirt bikes pretty much tripled this year. No claims since we've had the bikes, agent says its because so many are getting stolen. I've been with Cooperators for over 18 years now ( they also have the policy for the house, truck and car ). Going down later this week to discuss how badly they still want my business.
Anybody else get a surprise his year ?

Just put insurance on my bike through co-op and was only $150 for year, no collision though. Thought that was a good price. What are you paying?

asked my agent he said prices were based on cc talked to him about a Harley and it seemed quite expensive.

What's the point of having collision on a dirt bike ?
I always just run plpd and comprehensive (theft)
if you crash a dirt bike it is cheap to fix

Isn't it if you hit someone else and you did them some injury they would claim on your insurance.

So, made an appointment with the agent, he didn't show and no one else in the office could explain the increase. As I walked out the door I remarked it was a shame after all these years ( 18 ) that I'd have to go to another insurance company. About an hour later, the agent called, apologized profusely, asked for another day to work on it and came back with lower rates than before. Had to reduce the replacement value of the bikes, fair enough. Thank you Cooperators.

Collision fixes your vehicles damage when you are at fault
pl/pd fixes the other persons vehicle when you are at fault (does not fix yours)
