For the first time in a long time I see the price of diesel is lower than regular gas - Yahoo:party: Shell station in the park on Lakeland drive.

Whats the price? diesel is 3 cents more here than gas,but that's better that the 15 to 20 cents it has been higher
for the past few year's.
Gas is 94.9
Diesel 97.9 I think.(lloydminster)

They just raised gas prices by 10 cents a litre from 87.9 to 97.9 - no particular reason I can see. B**tards. As explained to me, how much diesel can be refined from a barrel of oil depends on the crude. Oilsands crude has more. Bakken crude (the stuff that burned down Lac Magantic) is very light so has more lighter products (naptha, gasoline etc.). You would think that in Alberta we should have an ample supply of less expensive diesel because of where the feedstock comes from.

Anyway, happy to see diesel finally coming down. Put any thoughts of buying one on hold when the price went up and stayed there. Maybe time to start thinking again.....

Problem is we sell the oil to States and buy it back as a finished product.

We need more refineries in Canada!!!!!!!!!

I suspect that's partially true. However part of it is due to the BS Canadian diesel tax. Also, on average, we get almost 60% more gasoline out of a barrel of crude than we do diesel.

Refineries can run different catalysts that promote different gas/ diesel production as well.

I think NW upgrader will help to bring the diesel price in line as well, not sure what their projected startup date is? '17-18?

Just fuel up today, i don't generally pay attention on fuel cost per liter. But today in West Kelowna at Shell it was $1.10 for diesel and $1.11 for reg. gas.
Yes in the Okanagan we pay a sunshine tax.

are those prices GST in or out? When I get my updates from the bulk plant there are GST out, just curious how they do it out there?

Clear diesel was at 94.7 GST out on Monday.

when you add in the extra tax's in BC, the end result is probably pretty close. The carbon tax in particular sucks.
