Dodge tank is a lot bigger the GM tank. The GM is 90 L, In the summer I get between 635 - 700 km on my 90L tank, mines a 02 and I have 35" tires and done to the nuts, I know the Ford will never get that milage. If I had the 130L tank I would get that milage too..:D:D

Mileage

I did a little test and I get better mileage and performance if I use Esso diesel instead of the Flying J. Maybe they use different or take some additives out for the Flying J to get it 10 to 20 cents cheaper? The Road King right across the street is higher price and the are a Shell distributor also.

Heard this from other people so I gave it a try.

I agree with you Ron, I've been down this road with summitric, don't post how far you go on a tank, post the MPG. 18.5 is pretty common for me around town and 22 on the highway. Summitrics last 700 km (back and forth to Red Deer) averaged out at 19 mpg (based on the milage and fuel usage he gave me) and that was highway...so it's not as good as your suggesting summitric and with your 135 L tank you should go further.
So when you fill up again let us know the MPG summitric.
That being said, you should get better milage, your truck is 4 years newer and should have better technology.
Cheers.

THE BIG RED DODGE ONLY HAS 2200 KMS ON IT, AND I AVERAGED 135KPH TO 140KPH TO RED DEER AND BACK THREE TIMES(725KMS) AND I STILL HAD 100 DTE(DISTANCE TO EMPTY) ON THE COMPUTER SCREEN, AND THE ACTUAL GAS MILEAGE WAS 19.9KMS. OK, GRANDMA, HOW FAST DO YOU GO ON THE HIWAY?? IF, AND ONLY IF I DRIVE CLOSE TO THE SPEED LIMIT, I THINK A LOT BETTER GAS MILEAGE WOULD BE REALIZED, BUT THEN AGAIN, WHAT FUN WOULD THAT BE??

A cummins will get between 23-25MPG at about 100KPH about 1-2MPG better than a Chev or Ford. Add in the Dodge durability, larger tank, alround better looks:D and you don't have to worry about the choice you made Summitric!! The other guys have to deal with the fact there are only two types of truck owners......those of us that drive Dodges and those that wish they did.:rollinglaugh::rolling:

Speed is your problem not mine.
Yes better gas milage happens at lower speeds but that's gonna be a bit hard for you to prove with the way you drive.
Regardless of what your computer told you 715km and 110L of fuel is roughly 18 mpg.
I agree with more miles the truck will get better milage but I'm hard pressed to believe your claim that some guys are getting 30mpg on Dodge Diesels. Sorry, just not convinced.

I'm not against Dodges, in fact I think there darn nice trucks, especially the Mega Cab summitric bought. I'm not the least bit convinced they are getting the milage summitric claims (30mpg).
One thing I learned over the last few years was that when we made trips to the mountains hauling simular loads with different truck manufactures and compared fuel bills between trucks, the truth was learned. We have all been about the same in the diesel world. I'm not saying summitric isn't getting better milage than me, he should, I'm saying his number don't add up and quoting how many miles he's gone on a tank is different than MPG at the pump. And don't trust the on board computer...KM's traveled and Fuel added will tell you the number.
I'd be interested in hearing the MPG a few guys are getting on thier trucks, gas or diesel.
2002 Chev 6.6 with Juice/Attitude chip 18.5 city/22 mpg highway.
Cheers

30MPG is stretching it a bit,the only way to check milage is to fill up,drive, fill up again and do the math. Kidding about the other chit. You get good trucks and bad ones. One guy who rides with us has a Chev that gets 16MPG(empty) and he has been back to the dealer several times... I believe it will soon be for sale. Usually your milage varies from other people's because of driving habits and what you haul and there is no correction factor for either.I will stick with saying I hear fewer stories of a Cummins getting lousy milage in stock form.

Agreed, there are lemons out there within every brand. Man, I'd be unhappy at 16mpg though.
Me, I' a bit heavy on the peddle around town so I'm satisified with my milage.
Cheers

For the power the newer trucks are putting out I can't see 30mpg. The old 2x4 billygoat trucks could get 30mpg put they only had maybe 200hp. On my 03 the best I can get is about the 23mpg mark and thats it I baby it. My old 2000 could get 26mpg if I babied it.
So for today's trucks I agree 30mpg is stretching it.

Used To Cost Me Almost $120.00 Every Time To Fillup. Say Thats A Savings Of $22.00 Every Week For 52 Weeks, That Would Be $1144.00 In A Year Of Savings, Or Two Sled Trips.....yahoo.

Been telling you that since they openned but you felt there had to be something not quite right with the fuel if it was so cheap. So what made you convert?
