Anybody know what Dalton weight is comparable to the OEM 8LR00? Cant get the 8LR00 in time but can get the Dalton stuff everywhere. Its for stock tune 18 Sidewinder with CR intake/exhaust. Thanks

a stock tune won’t pull a 73g dalton dtya profile. Not even close.

That’s what I found too stock mtx weights are 55.5g .....with a 250hp flash qay 62 loaded to 66-67g was all the sidewinder liked in heavy snow conditions.

I’m running 8LR00 weights loaded up to 73G on a stock sidewinder with Cr straight pipe last season. Worked awesome . Pretty much bang on 8750 rpm climbing in deep snow.

Secondary spring setting at 3-3 60 degrees

The profile on the dalton is more agressive meaning you cant pull as much weight....it will not work!

I have the stock MTX weights loaded with heavy rivets now, will just wait for my 8LR to get here, it seems to be a proven combo with stock tune. I will be trying the Dalton black/orange secondary spring, probably start at 3-3. My sled was a belt eater last year, so over summer ended up machining 3mm off secondary to get it to Yamaha specs, also kept flat spotting secondary rollers so put a billet helix (OEM angle) in so now at least all three are contacting(at rest anyhow). Will see how it goes. Riding around 6500’

id get a spring a little stiffer than the black orange. The winders seem to like a stiffer driven spring. Epi purple work well
