Does anyone know how the conditions are at crystal ridge right now. I’d like to haul the kids up there to try it out over the break

We were up there on Friday 21st. Sled trail in to the base was in OK shape right from Westridge parking lot, although thin until Cochrane Bridge. Some sledders accessing Westridge were driving to the powerline on the CMH road. CMH road was very icy. Lots of whoops after about 6km. We couldn't get our sleds past the sharp switchback about 1km from the base. People whose sled track we were following had also gotten stuck there a couple of days earlier - hole in the ditch on the inside is theirs, trench on the outside is ours. We just skinned up the road from that point, same as the people whose sled track we were following. I heard second-hand that some people got sleds up to the top on Saturday 22nd.
Snow up top was very good, treed section in the middle had had lots of tree bombs so wasn't as nice, below treed section things progressively got thinner towards the bottom. Lowest section was at least a grade or two above survival skiing.

So the groomer hasn’t been through there? Could a 550 tundra make it do you think?
thanks for the info

No, the groomer hasn't made a run up to Crystal yet. I have a 2-seater 550 Tundra and have made it to the top in previous years without any problems - but I don't know what the sled track is like right now.

Sorry, there is just not enough snow down low to run the groomer up there. Grooming will not begin until the new year and that is also only if people use the donation box near the bottom to help with costs. Unfortunately, this was not very well supported last season......

Reminds me of the field of dreams “ if you groom it they will donate” lol at least ideally
