You only move them when your re-staging your crusher pocket. Normally you build them in place and mine out the area, after a number of years you move it to shorten your haul distance with the big 300-400 ton haul truck as it's hard on the tires, drive train etc etc on the equipment. The longer the distance the more trucks you need in the fleet.

This was the first move of it's kind anywhere in the world. We started it up yesterday and it is all good.
There will be many more moves like this to come most likely on all the plant sites in the next several years.

We were working on the project for three years and it went very well.

Planning, planning and more planning..lol. There was also plant production to consider so it is all tied into numerous other things. You are correct about the road, t was built for this move and continued to the new location. All of the conveyor sections were also moved as well and placed on new structure that was pre assembled. What takes time is planning out all the steps of this kind of job, all on plant outages as the thing needs to produce as soon as possible.

These kind of projects usually take several years of pre work, all leading up to the big event. In this case, a 40 day shutdown to get it all done start to finish.

Cheers !
