as you may know the lovely government of alberta has recently changed the landscape for ohv vehicle use in the area ... we apparently cannot sled over 6000 feet
so the following is the notice of the town hall meeting

Town Hall Meeting please pass on the word!!!!!
Wade has set up a town hall meeting at the Cowley Community Center on Feb 7th, 2017 at 7:00 at which time MLA Pat Stier will be in attendance. This is our chance for everyone to come out and voice their opinions. We are also trying to see it our MP John Barlow can also attend.

Melissa please send out to our membership, post on facebook and our website. Thanks,

Just off the phone with my contact in Public Lands in the Crowsnest past. There is no relation to the 6000 foot indicated for the new parks south of Highway #3, to the area north of Highway #3. South of Highway #3, they are using 6000 feet to be the dividing line between the yet-to-be-enacted Provincial Park and the Wildland Park boundary. There is a new proposed Wildland Park above Highway #3, but it is not enacted yet, and has no baring on the Poker Rally this weekend.

I'm not questioning what you're saying Kaz but the original route for the poker rally on the north side of hwy 3 had to be changed because it ran up to the 6400' mark. I'll try and find out some more info tonight but as of this afternoon I was told the 6000' restriction was in effect north and south of the hwy.

Can general public attend this town hall meeting, or is it for locals only.

On another note, I find it a little disheartening that there is so little information about the Crow Snow Riders poker run and the STARS campaign this year. First post I saw was this morning and it was posted at 8:58 am today. That is one day before the event.

Surely, someone must see/understand that there is more than FB or wherever else this great event has been presented to the public.

Doug as you are aware now after your ride with us all, is that there are more issues in Southern Alberta that's on peoples mind right now. Stars ride is important and right now so is the access to riding areas to ride in.
Was a good event and rally and dinner but the Castle issue has many people focused on that issue.

Glen, I totally understand the issue but my point is if there is going to be an event there should be blanket advertising. Somehow, at least it is my opinion, there is more focus on FB than let's say on S&M. Sure FB has a lot of "members" or whatever they are called but it is sort of like Mountain Mania with hardly any pictures of the great winter event. Someone told me if I want to see pictures, I should go to FB. That tells me that there will be a slow painful demise of this forum.

If it isn't used, we're gonna lose it!
