everyone that rides in alberta should have a asa trail pass ....the monies from the purchase of trail passes
goes towards keeping our riding areas open .... allows clubs to be able to go out and make the areas ridable
ie clearing trails ..... it is also our voice to the government in regards to the numbers of sledders that use certain areas.....and if someone says they dont use the trails they just go to the bowls maybe they should stage on the highways

what kind of riding would one excpect? would newbies be able to do the run without being intimidated or crashin? crashing from lack of expierience that is.:)

yes very nice trails to ride and the odd bowl to play in if one so desires

Do you have directions to the Atlas Staging area ? Planning on coming to the Poker Run on the 14th but not sure where to go from the Blairmore Legion.

Go west Through Coalman till you come to the big gas plant on the south side of the highway it's about 8 or 10 km out of town turn right or go north of the gas plant. We were out there last weekend and it was great

Go west Through Coalman till you come to the big gas plant on the south side of the highway it's about 8 or 10 km out of town turn right or go north of the gas plant. We were out there last weekend and it was great

also called allison creek road follow it north till you come to a y in the road and stay right follow it up a couple of miles and the staging are will be on your right ( there is also signs )

Thanks for the directions to the staging area. We will be coming down on Friday night. Are kids welcome on the ride ?

yupp i dont have all the details on the ride yet as there is a club meeting tonight

will post when i know more

it is nice easy trails down there and they have had a couple of good dumps of snow
and they will be grooming before the ride

all we need now is for the weather to be great and it will be fantastic

the run is starting off at atlas heading east to mcgilvary then north thru spoon valley to the north shelter then over to window mountain then back to atlas should be close to 45 miles or so
