Hey folks looking for honest unbiased feedback on these 3 sleds:

2018 arctic cat xf 800 141 high country limited
2018 Polaris 800 sks 146
2018 skidoo backcountry

Polaris and cat are basically the same price but the sks comes with 3 year warranty since it’s part of the rmk lineup. Doo is 2k more as an average of the few dealers I have spoke with.

have followed the 800 axys closely for a couple years and am ok with reliability. My unknown is the cat as I have never owned one. Coming from a 2016 summit x 800 154 and want a shorter track for my style of riding.

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

I'd get a freeride in the 146 track

Thats am option but don’t want a 2.5 track again and not looking to snowcheck this round with all the deals on the non currents out there! If I was to snowcheck a doo a renegade xrs would work better for me.

Yeah fair enough. Maybe the 137 freeride then?
I think it has smaller lugs, but I could be wrong.

All good sleds, But I'm not supporting anything from Quebec till they start supporting Western Canada. I'm really sick of their sh1t. And yeah yeah I know, it's probably not gonna make a huge impact , but we all talk the talk about that friggen province but really do nothing about it. I can at least do this .

Valid point Lenny, buy an entire Country to the south of us that does not support Alberta Oil & Gas is a better option? Let's attempt to get this thread back on track, leave the political BS to the heated trailer and shop.

Will I be happy with the power of the Polaris or cat coming from 800 etec? I rode the 850 doo a couple times and it seems nice snappy!!

I have an 18 highcountry 141 for ditches. 820 miles on it. It’s a wicked sled. Good on gas and oil. Never need to touch the belts. Self deflection. It’s a 2.25 track. I really like it. I have had 137 freeride and a back country x 137. You won’t be disappointed in the xf

You suggested get it back on track , but then asked a question. Did you want an answer or was it rhetorical ?

I've had my XF High Country 8000 Limited for a couple years now and love it. Very versatile sled. I use it in the mountains all the time and trail riding with my family. I have a older 2015 version with the old Suzuki engine and it rips but I know the new 800 is even better. I went from riding Skidoo Summits all my life to the XF and will not go back to Doo for various reasons. I haven't had any issues with my Cat at all and my dealer rocks.

thanks for the info! There is some great deals around on 2017 hc’s with zuk 800.....I know it is reliable and have thought about one for awhile but thinking for resale it might be worth it to go with the 2018. Also the qs3 shocks have me very curious with the good things I read about them! Maybe I should pick up a 2017 for the price don’t think I can go wrong either way!!

I’ll put in another vote in for the xf, the 141’s are a fun sled and kinda wish I still had one for riding around home.

Another vote here for the Cat XF 141. Have the turbo version and love the versatility and power of the sled. One of the most fun sleds I have had to date.

If I were to pick up a do it all machine right now, it's be the newer backcountry with the 146. It MPH's a bit more than the Renegade for some reason and the rear skid flat out works. I know a couple of guys who buy a new machine every year and they are tickled with these machines. On the flip side, my uncle has a 18 SKS in a 146. Nice machine, cheaper, doesn't do anything spectacularily well, but doesn't do anything bad either.

The biggest problem I would have is coming from a ETEC. it's hard to go back to a SDI based motor and how much rougher they idle and run in comparision.
