Crank's split...

Hey guys I just took the motor out ouf my sled it's an '07 800r and noticed that the crank is split in half...I was able to wiggle it in opposite direction of each on either end of the engine. What's the most common cause for them to split?

Take the bottom case apart, I've seen a few examples of the case breaking around the boss for the main bearing

Oh ok...Im getting a brand new short block this weekend but I was just curious on some of the causes.

Warrantee I hope? The 07 R motor is famous for bad cranks.....

No unfortunately no warranty..the sled has just under 6000 original km's so I consider myself pretty lucky that it made it thus far.

u should fight for warranty as i thought they extended those sleds 1 year.
