i've got a 07 M1000 with 2900KM and bad PTO side connecting rod bearing. Has anyone had experience with rebuilds? just do the bad one, check all others for run out? Replace just crank with re-manufactured and replace/check main bearings? How long did it last/any other issues? Who can do it/has reman's in stock? thanks

PS. Anybody figure out why 98% of the time it's the PTO bottom end that goes vs mains or mag side?

More heat on that side from your clutch. And smaller bearing versus the main. Also the main has grease as well the rod bearings have nothing but the oil/gas mix that gets splashed on it

On a Skidoo, sure. Not on a Cat though. Over 5000K on my M1000 with one new preventive maintenance top end when I sold it, and he's still running it. Wish I'd kept that sled!

If you want a solid rebuild talk to brent linderman in crowsnest pass at arctic edge motorsports! And thats not generally like a cat to go that short of a time but it all depends on conditions clutch alignment ect and if you have blown a few belts that will shock load those bearing and cause some pre mature wear!
