because they can and the government lets them. But don't worry our idiot leader and his gang will go after them... and I have property for sale on the moon bahahahaha
Why do people who only make $5000 a year, even if it is net, feel they need to get $2000/month??

Lets see them get their money back from all those druggy's, of coarse there were a lot of overdoses so maybe in hind site not being fiscally responsible at all may have been a good move. But it just go to show you the liberals have no clue what their doing with tax payer dollars.

Hey the Toronto Sun wrote a story than gang bangers were using their money to buy illegal guns so the druggy's weren't the only ones cashing in. What a joke.

Trudeau and Bill Blair should be proud.

I'm not sure if it's them feeling the need but more along the lines of if they can qualify for it without lying, why not? Everyone else who can get it will.

Another one self employed who didn't know the difference between Gross and Net.....Your business didn't earn 5K but you gave yourself a 19K raise off the backs of taxpayers. Should be charging these people interest.

Won't have to pay it back if they talk to anyone with an ounce of knowledge on tax law. You can file an amendment to taxes and remove deductions to get over the $5k net, or go based on the 12 months prior income and claim in early 2020 months enough to put you over the $5k.

And actually that's a super common problem and part of the blame is on the CRA for not proper labeling it as net in the application. Also just because the net is under $5k doesn't mean that's what they actually make, self-employed people will claim anything they can to lower taxable income, it's perfectly legal and who wants to pay more taxes then they have to?

Easiest way around any CRA investigation is to reply to them and accuse them of racism.....ask them if they’re just investigating minority owned businesses.

Maybe JT and CBC step in to intervene against the man.

So this lady sold 5k in cakes in 2019 and received nearly 19k in cerb payments lol. Wtf does anyone want to work for anymore, gov hands money to everyone.

Lol, and kids that live at home that only had to make 5g.

Some actually need that money, and should of been aware it was “gross” earnings that will be taxed next year.
I actually feel sorry for that woman, someone who actually needed it, and a technicality will make it harder for her.

Since when is income based on net???

Do you calculate your tax payable on your gross earnings ? Be careful what you wish for !
But I certainly agree , $5000 ish earnings previous years , all of a sudden $2000/ month free money ,? Only our libtards could come up with something that stupid.
