Thought Some of you might like the story.I was sledding there 2 week's ago.
LOT's of wolves around there,I never thought one of these beasts would be though.
What an awsome looking animal, glad he wasn't destroyed. [h=5][/h]22 hours ago

Some wildlife excitement on the West Side today, along Cowan Lake near Big River! Local resident, Rob Warriner discovered a cougar under his deck! Local Conservation Officers tranquilized the kitty and are currently relocating him elsewhere...we will post updates as to the cougar's safe release! What an awesome Region we live in!

Ive heard they are all over here in sk, not alot of reports of human, pet and live stock kills.

loved all the granola eaters comment being worried they killed it, it is a waskesiu facebook page i guess.

They're getting more and more bold coming out of the river valley's here in AB. There's been a few sightings up to as far as 20KM outside the river near Trochu area the past few years.

Usually they dart/tag/release them somewhere more cat friendly but a few have been shot dead. I guess it depends on the wildlife guy's mood that day haha.

Awesome animals for sure, wouldn;t want to piss one off.

I've seen three since moving to Alberta. The last one wasn't quite quick enough to not run into my truck.
I knock it out but was moving and got up once I got turned around. Would have been about 100-150 lbs.

Thanks for posting.

Last winter they shot a cougar that had worked its way well into Saskatoon.

Thanks for the CBC link mike. I just found that as well and was about to post the link.
I talked to one of my hunter friends this morning and told him the story,he said they
should have killed it because it's such a powerfull/dangerous animal.I was suprised
at his point of view.Just cause a animal is rare and powerfull, doesn't mean it's a human
killer.

WHAT AN AWSOME LOOKING BEAST.

There's a lot more of them around than people realize

I am 20 min out of Lloydminster Sk. Been raising whitetail deer for 13 years and have lost a pile of deer to those cats. 8' fence is pizz all for them to go o er with a fawn in their jaws. About 10 years ago Neighbor was feeding mom and two cubs off his step till ma took a swat at him. There is more around than people think.

The problem is when these things lose their fear of humans and eventually someone's kid gets rolled playing in the yard or waiting for the school bus.

I'm 70 miles southeast of Saskatoon and there's way more of these cats around than people realize.
