On the way into Coal Mountain, there is active logging on the Leach FSR. Just up the hill from the tin shacks there is an active landing and the road is plowed. It is against the law in BC to drive snowmobiles on a plowed logging road. Fines are not cheap. Service trucks and equipment haulers may be using the road on the weekends so don't assume the weekend is safe. It is signed and "Unauthorized Entry" is prohibited.

Logging and mining take precedence over recreation. You have been informed and I am just letting those who read this to know what to expect.

So is it ok to ride at the shacks and keep off to the side? Is there enough snow to do that at the moment?

I don't want to come across like an arse but............It is illegal to ride a snowmobile on a plowed logging road. Please respect this as we don't need more hassles and more closures. Use the yellow gates or drive to Fernie and ride the groomed trail out of Coal Creek.
