When checking my sled over at the 500 km mark I pulled the muffler off to inspect and found some serious wear to the main coolant hose that runs to the pressurized coolant tank. It was worn through the first layer of rubber and was into the belts. I checked at Martin's for a hose and this is on back order no other dealers have. So got some silicone sealing tape from Canadian tire wrapped the hose with 2 layers then bought a Kevlar sleeve from mopac and had to slice it to fit over the hose. Used zip ties and got it fixed for the remainder of this years season. 2 of my exhaust springs were also missing from turbo to exhaust. Put new ones. Now the fun part to get this muffler back in.

I believe that hose is a problem child. Pretty sure BRP will be replacing a few on warranty and getting some kind of fix into place

Yes but none are available anywhere. It's $27 for a hose. It will be in at the end of April. If I touch it warranty on that item is void so not worth having the sled sit for the rest of the season. I'll just replace it myself and put the Kevlar sleeve over it.

I understand Ron. I’m just saying BRP may end up doing a warranty campaign on this over the summer or next fall when parts are readily available.

Right, but the one I replaced myself Im sure they wont give me a credit for. And this is a very common issue that most are unaware of. Im surprised that BRP doesn't have the hose at dealers or doesn't have a priority on manufacturing these. 1.5 months on backorder. I cannot be the only one with this issue. Matt - Muskoka Freerider noticed his early as well.

The insulation panel rubbing on the coolant hose is a known issue. Just remove the inner insulation panel and heat tape the exposed parts.

There is also a wire on top of the engine that rubs on a hose. The wire needs to be zip tied off the hose.

Don’t throw it away. A good dealer will work with you

Go to princess auto by a 3/4 rad hose 4” long slice it down the side and zip tie it to exsisting hose. Grand total of .42 cents and 4.25min of your time. Squeeze throttle and enjoy

Sure, I also had to deal with the problem cant just throw a bandaid over it. The fact was the hose has worn through the outer layer and a portion of the belts that reinforce the next layer which is the core of the hose. I kind of put a decent bandaid over the hose from rupturing but can't ignore it, the hose will need replaced when available this just will make the rest of the season.

Way better to be pro-active and peoridocially check over the sled at least every few hundred km. They take a beating on them hills, if I drove my truck or van lile I drive this thing I would need a full time line to AMA.

Use the spiral wrap I mentioned in my last post.
