The RCMP abuses C-68 Petition

If you have firearms (or any personal property) this should cause you discomfort. Confiscation without compensation of legally owned property. Write a letter, donate to the class action.

No kidding. I would love to hear the rationale behind this (or lack thereof). I don't agree that this should be happening in a country such as ours and even if it did (which it already is) they had better offer compensation on 3-4k worth of rifle. I would be livid if I owned one!

IIRC CZ858 is already done. Wolverine is revamping and gettin the 958, check out gunnutz forum in their vendor section.

Looks like they just made it official today, 858 gone as well. Little tougher since there are close to 10K of these floating around.
We might be looking at a very different hobby within the next year, break action shotguns an single shot rifles for everyone.
Hmm I wonder what's next? Kriss or XCR?? Take the money from a day at the range and donate, this may be our last chance.

Anyone here into 223's? I'm looking to pick one up for longer range target and to eventually make it a little more custom.
I've heard some good things about the remington 700. Anybody here own one? Good and the bad?
Thanks

Stay away from Remington IMO. I have owned a bunch and never had anything but problems. My current .223 is a tikka with a heavy barrel. Works fine out to 300m buy have not had it passed that. Anything further I went with my 308. Have a look at tikka or savage for stuff in that price range.

I haven't done it yet but you can shoot accurately to 700-800m with a .223. A lot comes into factor when shooting that small of a round that distance though. Lots of practice too!!

I just think it would be a great target gun because of how cheap the ammo is in bulk and the endless mods for most. 22 welfare cheap. 7.62 by 39 food stamp cheap and 223 higher end cheap red box wine!

I have a Rem 700 SPS in 30-06. It's been pretty good for me and the pride was decent. I have a 3500 bushnell on it but the farthest I have shot it is about 350 meters. My next rifle would be a sako though, they are smooth as silk and way lighter.

My main go to rifle is a Sako 85 Hunter in 30-06. Smooth, and accurate. The longest kill was 312 yards, but I've took shots a gongs out to six hundred yards before with hand loads.

Something to think about also. If you plan to shoot long range you are better off reloading. It is pretty tough to shoot "out there" consistantly with factory ammo.

Not using 55g. I was reloading with 77 and 80g for the .223. I started with 80g but they had to be single loaded as they won't fit in a t3 mag. Too long. Started using the 77g and they would just squeeze in and load reliably. A lot if things come into play shooting that small of round like I said. No different then shooting a 308 past 1000 m or a .338 to 2000m. But gets expensive. I got into sledding and the shooting stopped. I still don't know which of the two costs more. I think I spent more on shooting every year lol

That's why I bought a .243. My .223 wasn't accurate enough or flat enough for my liking or the distance I wanted. The scope on my .223 is a piece of crap to , which is the next thing I have to replace.

That is where the cash comes in. Take a look at pricing on the night force 12-42. That is what I had on my tikka tactical 308. You want to go long range it will cost you. My friken bipod alone cost almost $400. Add in a monopod on the back, then the stock, rings and so on. I do miss shooting but damn it gets expensive. I wish I could shoot closer to home I would head probably head out again.

Do you have access to anything out home ? Like pasture or stuff like that ?

I want a trigicon or a EO tech for a scope
