You can buy marine grade plywood and it will last much better. I've had 2 years and no separation. I'm thinking composite decking would be quite heavy for that application.

I used pressure treated plywood and painted one side with tremclad. Has lasted very well. Much better than the original plywood.

You can get umhw plastic sheets, or other simular polycarbonate sheets that you can even order in a color of your choice. Its not cheap, but will last the lifetime of the deck for sure. Check out Johnston Plastics, or Industrial Paint and Plastics in Edmonton. They may even have something better and cheaper to offer as a suggestion.

I don't have one so don't quote me, but I have heard that cross-trax decks carries a composite decking material for their decks, maybe it's an option if you buy a deck from them? Could call and see if they might just sell the decking (if they use it..) Let us know, would be nice not having to redo the decking ever again..

I'm trying to get away from the sides curly and the wavyness in the center, when I bought my marathon i asked the guy if it was crack or curl...nope....yup! I was looking for the stuff that Full Lotus uses and they wont sell it separately, I guess they have it custom made for them. I'll look into crosstrax.

Do a search for Marine Grade plywood. You want waterproof glue and no voids in the layers. They use that stuff for the bottoms of good aluminum boats. Some of it has a manufactured finish on it and that's what you want. Don't paint if yourself as that will just peel and look like crap again. The plywood will be fine but the paint will not be.

Just trying to point you in the right direction. I use my deck year round; 50-100 days of sledding and construction work in the summer months. Marine plywood tands up period.

I saw "plastic plywood" in the last Windsor Plywood flyer in both 1/2" and 5/8" for like $20 a sheet. Meant to go have a look but forgot all about it till I saw this post!

I put trans decking on , its a laminate wood , its what is used on opendeck transport trailers , you can get it from ainsworth out of Kamloops , 3/4" is as thin as they make it , its heavier than plywood but not by much , it will last you min 10 years if you use it a lot
