If it surged, then you had a lean spot condition. Possibly water in the fuel or crappy gas or a plugged jet from the fuel congealing. I only run premium and shell if at all possible. I also add an ounce of marvel mystery oil to every tank of fuel.
Yep Spark plugs and camara tell me it leaned out..s%#$

wow that just happened to my 09 hillclimb edition here at christmas time riding on a lake rode for 10 mins out to there then opened it up a little and bang seized freed the clutch after 5-10 mins it was the mag side on mine and it leaned out by the exaust port looked like i got a bunch of snow into mine though wasnt sure if thats why it blew up ? i was told by a guy to go with bigger pilot jets on the xps anybody doing that ?

I just purchased a 10 xp that is pretty much stock except for a can and an extra air intake on the top of the consol that is screened... is year prone to the same mid range lean??? Also sorry new to dooo... what are you shimming??

stock pilot jets are 17.5..... they only effect the idle and throttle advance off idle and up. Needles probably should be shimmed.
