I am looking for a machine that all you do is put in the water, beans, and plug it in.
Not looking for any capsule type like Tassimo, or Keurig. I prefer the fresh grind.

The ones I am looking at are:

Saeco giro,

Or the Jura models:

Does anyone have one of these models? Iam thinking the Jura, because I believe you can track how many coffees you had, I know some who had so far 11,000 cups on his, and it still is going strong.
At my rate, I think it would pay for itself in a couple of years, considering I usually hit starbucks every day.

Thanks in advance,

M

Have you tried fresh ground coffee made in a simple French press?

We use the deLonghi (spelling?) Pacifica. Awesome machine. I don't know about the newer ones whether they track cup numbers or not. We have had it for 5 years and had to replace a heating element. Other than that, just beans and water.

The espresso strength is adjustable and beans are relatively cheap at Costco. Hope this helps or gives you another option.

Actually I do have a couple of bodums, and some melitta cone one-two-joe. They are good, but I am looking for the convenience of an automatic machine.

In my mad rush to work, if I have to be bothered to boil water, grind, and clean up after, I usually just go to Starbucks.

Fill the water and beans once a week, Empty the grounds every few days, push a button and Viola!
And it's dam good coffee too.

I like the good old commercial bunn. pot of coffee in 1 min. They sell them pretty well priced at The grocery people on yellowhead.

Miele would be awesome! I installed lots of those in the kitchens I've done... But the auto version with plumbing is $5000

:yikes:

Well, I heard that at the bay they were selling the Seico Syntia for half price.

They were normally $1499 down to $750. Luckily, I went on their website and they made a mistake in pricing, I got it for $700,

At first, before I knew what to do, I wasn't impressed, but after calibrating temps, water hardness, and grind, it makes a WICKED Cap, Espresso, Americano, and Latte'

I am now an official coffee snob.. LOL
