Anyone else experience this on 850T with 800kms. Any ideas on the potential cause?

Did the belt grenade first? Stock clutching?

Was not my sled. Got photos from my son. He said it all happened at once. Belt was not hot

It may have been faulty to begin with. Maybe an assembly guy dropped it on the floor and cracked it and didn’t tell anyone to cover up his boo boo. Hard to say

I had a similar failure years ago. Clutch had 4000km on it I think. If I remember correctly, the belt didn't fail though. Took out the pan and guard. Was repaired under warranty.
Looking at your pics, It appears something solid got in there. The bolt is flattened and gouges in the aluminum. Could have been a result of the cords snagging an arm I suppose as well.

This photo suggests the clutch was hitting something, right by the pin for the ramp. The end of the pivot bolt was hammering something as well. More to this story than just driving along :)

The casting area around the roller looks nice & a clean break, no flaws.

I'm going with impact.

Those dings in it are suspect, but there would have been a lot of chit flying around when it let go. Would be pretty easy to tell if there was any impact under the belly pan. The damage on the outside should be obvious.

There’s no way that could’ve happened…
Complete conspiracy…

All S&M SD wanna be ambassadors are busy poking fun n the AC threads…
(Except Ken, made a brief statement here and threw the Frenchman under the bus).

Maxwell has yet to comment, so the official statement has yet to be determined.
