I also clipped my track the other night, though the tool did not stand up. I sheared one of the pins in the tool and I had to drill it out a bit so I could put a pin in that would stand up to the pressure which seems to be alot as I bent and sheared most every pin I used. Is there warranty on the tool?

Once the handles touch together you don't get the clips any tighter by squishing harder. You can ship it back and I can ship it to the manufacturer to see what they say.

I put a grade 8 bolt in mine and had zero issues afterwards.

Yeah, I'll be putting a grade 8 bolt in there too. I only squeezed untill the handles touched. I only put 6 or 7 clips on before the pin broke.

We have clips and tools in Calgary. It is slowing down this time of year and I can work out a flat rate rental for a few days rather than $20/day. We can ship to you in a plastic shipping tube. We put return address stickers inside so you just need to arrange the return shipping at your cost. $150/bag of 60 clips plus shipping, rental and gst. Likely will cost you about $200-$225 total.

How many clips required for a 2017 174? Do you have stock? Price?

Guys who break the tool are generally squeezing beyond where the 2 halves come and touch together. You will not get the clip any tighter after this contact is made. A 1/4" bolt fixes these up in minutes but if its worth the freight to return it you can. If done correctly there is very little pressure required, a quick squeeze to close just enough to take a second final positioning bite and then just bring the handles together to touch near the jaws.

I'm guessing 62 but would need to count. 163 is 56 or 58 depending on 3" or 2.86" pitch. I can put a couple extras in the bag for you.

Borrowed a '19 800 this passed weekend and the track is wearing on the unclipped holes still. It is clipped properly on the lugs but empty holes are still wearing. I meant to grab a pic but forgot

Thanks for the update. I have been telling customers to wait on the 19's to see if we see the same damage. I expect it should be less though.

I have lots of clips in stock if required.

I may have to retract my statement. 120ish miles on my 850 and no wear whatsoever so far
