Chevy Front Diff Fluid Change

Anyone change the front differantial fluid on a 2007 chevy 1/2ton. Are the plugs easy enough to access that ski plates or facia pieces dont need to be removed. Some info/pictures would be good

just remove the skid plate and the plugs are right there. drain and refill.

SAE 80W-90 Axle Lubricant (GM Part No. U.S. 89021671, in Canada 89021672).

FRONT AXLE (1500 HD, 2500, 2500 HD, AND 3500 SERIES)
SAE 75W-90 Synthetic Axle Lubricant (GM Part No. U.S. 89021677, in Canada 89021678) meeting GM Specification 9986115.

even synthetic in the 1500 now ric:beer:

4 bolts on the skid plate,drain plug on the left side of diff,drain and fill plug is above the drain plug,no additive in the front,only additive in the rear if you have a posi

Shoulda done it myself on my Chev 1500... Mr. Lube cost me 90 bucks for the front diff. :mad:

Ahahahahahahah, u let them take u for 90 bux, chit get rite under there and do the change urself. I worked at mr lube before, used to laugh at all the ppl that got tookin for diff services. If u cant do ur own maintenance, u mite as well get taken for rides. Just sayin.

Had no choice. He told me the diff fluid was goin' bad and at 41,000 km it didn't surprise me. They already changed it cuz I said go for it, and after he told me it was 90 bucks... Then I thought "phuk, if you'd a told me that first I never woulda bought it!!"
