You bet, this is the first time this connector has ever been apart

In my opinion none of the OEM's do enough to control moisture intrusion into their wiring connections. All it takes is a little corrosion to create a high resistance connection, effectively turning it into a heater.

My 16 AXYS looked the same. Polaris said it was a stator problem and changed stator, wiring harness and voltage regulator. I think just too much resistance at that connector.

Thanks for that input. I figured it was a combination of a loose connection and just the high amp draw at that location. So i finished the rebuild and removed that connector and wired everything separate with insulated spade connectors, then heat shrink, then taped each and finally taped the whole bundle.

Rode 3 full good days, sled ran strong, 4th day last week i started sled in morning and had no gauge, i thought VR so didnt wanna run it ( had a 09 Assault and no all about the headaches of VR problmes and melted ECUs, lol). Did some reading and found the relay burnout would cause it as well.

Bought a relay today (will change when can) , then further testing to ensue. VR en route as a replacement or spare, hope its not the stator. But that is the order i will be replacing/testing components.

Thanks again.
