We ride our sleds when it's cold . My G4 has very little wind protection. Just wear the proper protection and clothing. It Would be a blast to ride those bikes in the winter.

This old guy wouldn't be on the Cassiar Stewart Highway at -30 in anything that didn't have a cab and heater unless it was a life or death situation like for instance we were out of beer at Brownies cabin and all the pickups wouldn't start

I think that if one does dress properly, it shouldn't be any colder than riding a sled HOWEVER, I am also curious about handling characteristics on an icy road you share with cars and trucks who don't care about you.

As bucket list challenges go though, this makes more sense to me than climbing Everest or many of the other life endangering stupid human goals people come up with.

I would consider driving the chase truck where it is nice and warm. Won't take them long to get out of the cold and then you will need the AC.

Maybe they want to finish up before winter hits in the southern hemisphere? They should be out of the snow by southern Washington or before.

So part of their shtick is they don't plan on using bridges? We're you there when they arrived or left? I am wondering if they put their helmets on backwards just to add a bit of challenge to an otherwise boring drive.

did they have a time frame? like 3 months/6 months /yr? they could have avoided winter all together, as SA winter is during our summer.
