I just got off the phone with Recon and they told me the goggles should be shipping within the next couple of weeks. He wouldn't give me an exact date but if I do hear one I'll be sure to post it!

Trax to Treadz, you bringing any of these goggles in???

Hi Cat Pride

Yes we will be bringing some of these in to have as stock but keep in mind we can only get a limited quantity and when they are gone they are gone. We won't be able to get any more until they do another production run.

Jan,

So a deposit would be good for you? Do you know the warranty period is for these goggles?

In 10 years we won't need gauges on our sleds. Wouldn't take too much to output RPM, etc to these. I bet the next version gains bluetooth wireless or something to connect to iPhones and stuff.

Hey CP

We are taking orders secured with a deposit. I will need to know which ones you want the polarized photochromatic at $540.00 plus shipping and gst or the polarized for $440.00 plus shipping and gst.

The warranty is as follows:
"LIMITED WARRANTY INFORMATION:
The Transcend GPS™ goggle (the “Product”) by Zeal Optics Inc. (“Zeal”) & Recon
Instruments Inc. (“Recon”, and together with Zeal, “We”) is guaranteed against defects
in material or workmanship under normal use for one (1) year from the original date
of purchase."

There is about 2 more pages of warranty info I can copy and send to you if you are interested.

so what were the difference between the two. Thanks

Hi Mach

The difference between the two is that one lens is photochromatic. What that means is that it lightens and darkens according to the varying light changes. It works with the amount of UV rays that are coming in contact with the lens. Both sets are polarized.

We took the goggles with us on our weekend trip to Calgary and set them up to log on our trip home. The lat and long were out a few degrees when compared to the truck GPS, but the truck GPS also had us off roading and never actually on the 22X for most of the way. As you can see in the screen shot, the Recon goggles actually tracked very well, down to us actually driving the speed limit on the number 1 highway.

I thought this next screen shot was pretty cool as well. As you can see in the screen shot, I had turned the goggles on in the house and wandered around with them on, while getting them figured out. I know from previous experience that at least one of my Garmin GPS's will not work in the house and neither will our SPOT as they need a clear view of the sky to pick up the sat's.
