Pretty neat kit, looks like something I'd appreciate with my lack of reverse.

It would be nice to see a vid of it working, also I get that you drive up the ramp so far and then it pivot's on the wheels, but then I think you have to lift the back and roll it into the truck? The only thing I see with that is the front of the plywood (ski's) would dig into your box, but I guess that's easy enough with two wheels in the front. All in all it looks like something easy to make and cheap on the pocket book which is good for my son's who are just getting into the sport. Thanks for the post I'm going to make one soon and I will let you know how they work.

Take some photo of the fabrication and how it works.

what are all the cutouts in the plywood for?

The large one's I believe are to carry it to and from the truck, small ones in the back are to lift I think. Other things to look at is you would have to hit it with a little speed because of the 2x2's IMO are too far forward, also if you look at the small piece of plywood where the ski first makes contact it is sitting on top of the sheet of plywood and only butt's into the side of the 2x4, if I'm seeing this correctly that will not last after a few loads. My design will be a little different at the bottom and I will also have super slides for the ski's and the 2x4's will allow for wider ski's. Too much thinking, is it 12 o'clock yet

Seems it is prices a little high for some plans and a pair of wheels IMO. You still supply the wood. Wheels you can get at princess auto for 10-15 bucks at the most. Now if say 4-5 guys went together and bought the kit and then copied it you would have something. Maybe we should start something like that. I may be in.

I think it wouldnt work with my 163. Or would have to be 11 ft long. The aluminum full lotus one is 10 ft long and looks like it works with a 163. I have aluminum ramps but i was thinking of making a elevated platform to stow the ramps under the sled.

Cool concept, and I can see how it would work great for a stock 1/2 ton. But a 8' sheet of plywood, would make for a steep climb on some of our trucks..... I can revise the plans in my head, and if I'm bored one weekend it shouldn't take more than a couple of hours to redo.

I still thinking of doing a single sled deck like what was mentioned above. Raised up to about the wheel wells with a ramp underneath. If I can get a ten foot ramp off a regular sled deck and put underneath then have the back section of the deck fold up you can close the tailgate when not in use and still pile stuff on top if needed.

The bigger holes are just cut outs aprox. 1ft long. you screw them on at the bottom extended pce of the 2 x4 if you cut a 10ft down to 9'. You need that ft pce so the ski will easily ride up. The area where you make the cutout is insignificant to where the sled rests. By going to 9ft 2x4 it lowers the angle of the ramp and you need it for the higher beds. it works on any sled. the longer track isn't an issue but that depends on your configuration. some trucks only have 4.5 ft back there. That foot of 2 x4 left over will be attached to the front of the ramp to stop your sled from hitting the back of the truck. We shipped out aprox. 3 dozen last year of them and never heard a complaint back. Its been refined a bit since then. The only tricky part is loading on ice. It works best on ground or snow pack otherwise the track will spin if you need to get your sled up further on the ramp. You can clean this ramp up and make it pretty with guides but it won't alter the function how the ramp works. The grease that comes with the kit when applicated lets your unit slide right up!
