You just can't do that. Even in the MUCH more gun friendly US. You can not chase somebody down and shoot at them (legally). In Colorado, you can stand your ground and defend yourself, but not necessarily property. Here we can dispatch an intruder in our home, pretty much no questions asked. If they break into your home, they are considered a threat. If they run out the door, you had better let them go, or Bubba will be your new boyfriend in jail.

If you choose to do something like this, your only chance is if there is only ONE side of the story told, your side.;) Yes officer I followed them. When they stopped they attacked me and I shot them to defend my life.

I wholeheartedly agree we should be able to dispatch filthy criminals with malice. The problem is, who gets to decide who the criminals are?

Last winter a buddy of my had his 2 sleds on a trailer stolen from his driveway in Millet.
He found where they were. A local guy. Called the cops. To this day the cops have not gone to see the sleds at the culprits place. Lots of help that is!!! The cops must have a reason for not following up. It seems to happen too often. (Or not Happen)

Shoot, Shovel and Shut UP???? Just my 2cents.

Fricken Eh!~

And that's the way thieves should be dealt with. Maybe if more took matters into their own hands, less of this chit would be happening. I hope more people start doing this. Maybe someday they'll amend the laws to allow Canadians to protect what's theirs.

In the Stettler news paper the court report had that the guy that was shot at has failed to show up for the 3 court dates so it is starting to look good for Brian Knight. Finally put a warrant out this week for said witness.

What ever happened in this case? I remember a huge turnout in court to support the farmer.

Not sure. I do think he was right in chasing them down. Don't think he should have disharged his weapon or at least hitting the person. Pretty sure I would have held him at gun point, called a neighbor then haul him out back kick the crap out of him for a bit THEN!!!!! I would take him to the corral, tie him to a fence post, pull his pants down and let a hungry calf at him. If ya ever fed one with a bucket you know what would happen!! :d:d Cops would never be called.

he should go to court pay a token fine ($10 or so ) and let free, the other three on the other hand should be dealt with differently. the way our justice system works, brian will get the book thrown at him and crooks with get sympathy , im sure.

i think that the individual, once captured should have fallen down repeatedily , due to the obliviously slippery grass,,,and unfortunately smacked his head on the post...repeatedily....until the law enforcement arrived to help subdue the azz hole....... theft should be like it is in the countrys who cut off the hand the first time.......thats usually enough....
besides then it would be easy to spot the crooks...

course thats my outside voice........

A little conversation by hand or anyother means with thieves is always....a good idea.......

anyone here the story a few years back at six lakes north of fort mac?

from what i heard was that some atvers came back to their trucks to find a intruder. they caught him and tied him to a tree, then waited for police. when the policia came it ended up being the atvers charged.

not totally sure on the details hoping someone knew

i agree on the 3S's, cops are useless!!!
