I was reading the post of a recent quad out at cataract in the conditions thread. Im watching youtube videos and there is a quad riding down the trails/ in parking lot. Here is the action his friend posted on youtube from his helmet cam. I will send a nice message to him so that he can educate his buddy and his group of the rules out there.

Posting on here where most people come to gain some education on the rules isn't going to help much.

It is unfortunate that people will not find out the regulations of an area before deciding to take a quad there but unless someone reported them at the time it is a little more difficult for any enforcement follow up.

This is why its posted so people can learn No Quads.....

I only posted it to inform people that are learning the area not to do this. And others were complaing about quad tracks out there..... this is to let them know they where found and informed of the rules.

send video to srd, when the srd take him to court, you won't see anymore quads there, same as the clown running steams west of rocky, a few $20,000 fines usually gets the message out quick.

All I was saying that this isn't the target audience in my opinion. The people on here usually are the people willing to educate themselves on the rules and follow them. It is the people who don't actively take part in the community who can be the problem. Good on you for sharing, but it just needs to be taken to the next level.

While most of us realize that sleds and quads end up in places they do not belong occasionally ....bombarding SRD with vids is in no way going to stop such actions,in fact it will just lead to more closures for ALL riding areas for all off road vehicles.

The advance of cell phone vids, go pros , you tube, Facebook will likely end any future riding area debates, sadly not in our favor ! You see the people who want to shut down motorized off road use, don't really give a nun's foo foo ,wether it's a quad,sled or sxs, much less on the wrong trail....they want ZERO machines on public land ...0 , none ,never ever .

I am not going to give them ammo for their guns to shoot me.....that is my only point....

If I catch a quad on groomed sled trails its on. After making small talk I grabbed a guys key. Jumped on my sled and took off while throwing the key in the trees and snow. No need for the Internet. Even when I was a punk 20 yr old I never would consider groomed trails as a place to quad.

Fawk people, everyone has to learn someway. Maybe he is an azz hat but maybe TRY to educate him (and not by calling him an azz hat or threatening him) on why this isn't acceptable before judging him. I made a similar mistake once before only to come on S&M to find people bitching about a couple of quadders (me and my bud) on the sled trails. Now I'm educated and don't do it.

I've never been out there so I can't speak to how well it is signed. Even so, if it is crown land, I'm not sure you can technically stop him unless SRD has placed restrictions on the area. In that case, it becomes all about respecting the sledding community and pissing this guy off will accomplish the opposite.

We can improve the signage at staging areas as long as they follow the rules.
