You were on the wrong end of the highway, you need to access this area from the south end of HWY 40, you come in from Longview, then turn south at the road closure gates.

From the Okotoks area it looks like there were dark clouds over that area all day today. Chinook in the foothills = snow in the mountains (usually)

I may try to go out there tomorrow so if you see a guy on a Renegade looking lost please point him in the right direction (towards home preferably).

Marley,Myself and Don went over fording. Was nice to meet and ride with you guys. We got a late start.Left Etherington at 12.There were 8-9 trucks in the parking lot. For a friday it was bussy.Ended up meeting 2 other snow and mud memebers on the trail daves and Xfmontana.....was nice to meet you guys.I would say there was 2 inch of fresh at parking lot and trails leading up to fording. On the fording side i would say about 6-7 inches fresh. Was pretty nice back there. There were no tracks to be seen . We tracked the Sh@t out of it so no sense going there.....LOL.j/k there is more fun to be had there. We saved you guys some.Wish we had more time there cause i just couldnt stop riding. My thumb was stuck to the bar.The ride there was the typical over rocks threw the non frozen creeks.....

Thanks to Darrell for the guided tour. Would post pictures and video but the all the muscles everywhere either hurt or don't work - my dog is typing this as I dictate from a prone position with cocktail and a straw.

More visual data from Cataract on Friday
The Renegade 600 HO did it's best in the powder but was not up to the task of leaning over easily. On the trails it was great. Still running the OEM skis with 137x1.25 track it was up to the task for the most part - the rider maybe not so much. Creek crossings and bare rocky trails is what I can do well on my KTM. The dual carbides on the skis stopped dead on rock if momentum dropped so slow creek crossings and careful riding over the rocky divide made for lots of work for my gracious riding partners/tow trucks. At least I have the performance of the OEM stuff to compare to when I change to the Pilot 6.9's and 144x2" track this weekend.

This is Don on his Summit 600 ETEC easily taming the powder at over 7000'.

anything left?? anybody headed out tomorrow?
Seeing how many guys were there on a Friday I would think that chances are slim. Would be nice to hear a report though. Koocanusa has no snow, all across the praries it's skimpy so Cataract is the magnet. SX Anaheim 1 is on now - let us know if you go tomorrow and how it is.
