Wanted to see where I'm at with my break in. The screen says "Top Speed 180km" and I can't get it out of that screen. Someone at the trail head said the dealer didn't program it and I need to bring it back in. Is that true? Or is there something I'm not doing right?

Also, you have to bring in the sled to the dealer between 400-500kms anyways right?!

It won't display break in % remaining except for when you first start it.

Mine comes up soon as you start it then goes away. After every start but I heard some did not get it programmed from the factory

Some of the early shipments of sleds did not get the percentage of break-in programmed to the display. The later shipments got programmed at the factory. You can bring yours to the dealer and get it put in. Not sure but I believe there is a service bulletin on this subject.

Can you clarify this? Do you mean as in the first start of the day? or?...

Anytime you start it. If it is enabled it will come up on the screen briefly. You can't make it come up by pushing buttons.

I was told you need the dealer 10 hour check. otherwise warranty is void? Anyone else been told this?

Its not $300 tho who quoted you that? I paid $50 at Mr R's but they are no longer. I would thnk 1 hour labour charge at most places.

average shop rate 100 - 120.00 per hr need at least 2 hrs to go through everything corectly and make adjustments and how dealers make money shop supplies and parts cause they do not make a ton on the sled itself (mark up)
as for the 10 hr have been riding new ones since 1991 not once was warenty denied because of not having the 10 hr done

Neither my freeride or xm have the breakin come up. All my friends sleds do. I did get mine early. The free ride is at 420 km and xm at 365. Would that mileage reflect still in break in mode according to those of you with the message that tells you where your at

That's a lot of km already, you're doing well. It really depends on the type of mileage though if it's easy cruising in low snow it will be a lot longer than if it's hard on the throttle in the steep and deep. The break in algorithm is based on fuel used and throttle position.

I am at 200km and have 56% break in left on my xm. Of that probably a 1/3 has been hard on it in the deep, the rest was getting there.

Thank you. Acording to your comment I would guess I'm close to being off Breakin on both units. They have been mostly full throttle km. Ive been luckyand have quite a few km behind me now. Even put 105 miles on the wifes crossfire. I'm well on my way to my 5500-7000 km average. Let it snow !!
