As for the ruling, take it off. As for women who don't wear hats showing respect, perhaps they can expose a boob or something, I don't know, just making suggestions and trying to help. LOL

It's a military tradition from the days of kings and knights......The knight visiting or presenting to a King would lift his visor so the King could see his face, he would use his right hand as well (the hand he carried his sword in)...

It progressed to removing the helmit and then to the hat.....

Now any active person in the military or police is to leave there head cover on, as it is part of thier uniform....

It's about "the tradition" of respect.
The military and police have very strict rules to follow when in uniform with the Canadian Anthem plays.
Me - I take my hat and toque off.
