I’d be in being a US state. Lose our healthcare though but gain a military we could be proud of

The US constitution is the strongest in the world, that alone is the only reason needed to join them. They also have enormous corruption, just like everywhere but with the constitution they have more protection from said corrupt govt.

I don't think Alberta would survive as a country on its own, too many others would invade and take it over (US included and probably the primary one that would as they have the most to lose if Alberta went to someone else.).

IMO, the only way for a province of Canada to become a state would be to take the entire country as one and then split into smaller states after, breaking up Canada while it being its own country just wont happen.

From a border position it makes sense for the entire country to go vs a small portion of it.

Canada is broken beyond repair (US isn't really any better, i will admit that), financially both countries are screwed. Fixing the same problem in two sister countries makes more sense than going it alone and losing to the US.

Never, the USA wasted everything they have and have nothing left but oil. They also just drop their garbage everywhere and expect others to clean it up. They also try to pet bison, take selfies with elk and hand feed deer and bears. Canada will be fixed soon. No one wants to see any of the faces that were here during the COVID fiasco ever again. Watch them go one by one.

What’s wrong with feeding bears and taking selfies with elk and bison? That’s how natural selection works. There are dumb people down there as well
That need to go away. lol

Too many newfies
if it weren't for Newfies or easterners in general you'd need a lot more temp foreign workers to keep that beloved patch running......dare say in the 80's you would have never had the boom without the eastern workers. I don't take away from the work ethic of most albertans and what they have done but I when I moved out here in the 2000's I also saw the HUGE portion of people here that wanted the high pay for no work and then the portion who cared and worked hard to make up for them. and then a lot of eaterners who were used to busting ass for nothing where they came from, working as hard as they could to help build this province........now are there some lazy ass easterners who do nothing and complain about what they don't have yes......but that goes both ways there big shoots.....

the first post is the problem with the country today. we're basing being proud Canadians on our government. being a Canadian has nothing to do with that. we can do our best to try and change what goes on and vote how we think we should but the politics of it is the government and not what it is to be Canadian. I'm still a proud Canadian I just don't agree with our government like the majority. we as a people though have a reputation world wide and should be proud of that. majority or people around the world right now are dealing with the same BS we are and know the gov. doesn't always represent the people and the culture.....

I would in a heart beat as long as I could get my pension (PSAC with the feds) taken care of (nothing to do with Singh). I have a big need for that pension.
I am one of those guys that the grass is usually greener on the other side of the fence and I like challenges, exploring new ideas, and simply being able to tell a guy like Trudope and libtards to stick it.
I’m not in the rocking chair quite yet but it is getting closer.

I have seen and been told that there is already something in place for pensions to be honored, always has been.

I am part of a FB group on Alberta being the 51st state and it is amazing some of the info posted there (both canadians and americans make up that group).
