I have an 08 Renegade. My belt started smoking once when I drove through a huge water hole. It started to smoke really bad.
I took the case off and discovered a hole in it.

It is dry and it still smokes now. What do I do to clean it and prevent it from smoking now? It is also hard to shift in and out of gear.

Thanks in advance.

take off the primary and take out the one way bearing. clean up then reinstall with preferly isoflex grease or syn.

check the the rubber pieces coming out of the CVT that connect the snorkels for your CVT exhaust/intake. they are probably rotten like the majority ive seen
