try Fofar which is just south of Athabasca and west of Cross lake, the lake is narrow but good for waterskiing and floating. There is Hanmore Lake north of Smoky. Whitefish is pretty good but shallow in areas, north of Vilna. Then garner lake as well.

I don't know what the areas are like now days but winifred lake Christina lake lac la biche lake were all nice to go to. I imagine with all the oil activity in the Conklin area they might not be as nice.

I haven't been back to Alberta in a long time.. I'd be curious to know how my old family favorite Lakes were doing.

Wolf lake and Tucker lake by Bville.n (Wolf, is by far my favorite.. Loved the wicked fishing and the Northern Lights.. ooo and the blueberries)

North Buck Lake by Boyle

Pinehurst by Lac La Biche.

It's not in AB, but Turtle Lake (about an hour northeast of Lloydminster) is beautiful. By far the nicest lake I've been on east of the Rockies. Not sure about serviced camping...there was a store and cabins on the east side, but they are no more. Our family has 3 lots in Horseshoe bay...we spend 2 weeks up there every summer.

Island Lake is really nice (North-West of Athabasca) but no "serviced" camping unless you know someone in the area with a lake lot. Baptiste in the same area is super nice, big and busy..... Slave is nice, but that's one of the obvious ones.... My folks and I went up to Lac La Biche a few years ago, stayed at Sir William Churchill PP (really nice park) and it was on some huge lake but I don't remember the name of it.

You could come down to Caroline area and theirs the pond known as burnstick lake which is west and south of Caroline. Average camp ground right beside the lake. Theirs also cow lake which is south of Rocky Mountain House.
