Here are some pics of my track a Camoplast 162 x 16" x 2.5" track, it is delaminating and falling apart. It has under 300 km on it and I am applying for full replacement warranty. I will keep you informed how that goes. So far I heard I will have to wait between 6-8 weeks for a decision which im not pleased about firstly. This track was not abused or ridden up chutes where the track was hitting rocks, it is simply delaminating all over and the fins are shooting off while riding.

How would they go about with the replacement? Send you some sort of credit or cheque? Or a new track ? Is there no dealer that will give you the track, you one day are gonna have to pay for it might as well pay upfront get the track and then at a later date give said dealer the credit ? And get a refund on your payment

Am i to far out of the box on this ?

No need to sit on the side lines

I bet they say:

Turbo? Ummmm yah, ---NO!

Good luck with your claim. Hopefully they won't be total dicks about it.

If they say that, I can attest to the fact that the track was not abused and the turbo had nothing to do with it. to me looks like a bad track. My nephew had a belt that come unglued during the brake in phase. 10 miles on the belt and she went awskapoofin'. I and I know that he didn't WFO the belt in that 10 miles as I instructed him on proper break in. So just like my nephew rknight's track is a dude. sometimes it happens that way.

I just lost a lug on my three inch 162 track were the lugs are not breaking off but pealing like yours are. Who are you dealing with about your track problems? The guy i bought it off has no interset in helping me out with it and told me to talk to camoplast. Mines not near as bad as yours and is still driveable, but how many more lugs are going to peel off like this. Kinda makes for a short season when a person is buying tracks that have less life in them then a belt.

Thanks 1100

This track is just coming apart all over, and has not been abused at all with the turbo. This has been falling apart just on the trail going up to renshaw. Its like the outsides are delaminated and all the lugs are flying off. Still rode all weekend in McBride, not going to call it a weekend on the first ride up with a new track. Personally my other track faced alot more abuse that this ever had and it lasted all season and will be going back on to show that there are no issues. The only issue I had with my old track is there was separation areas the size of a loonie in the odd area where the wheels run on the outside. So I decided to go with a new one for the season. Its amazing that when people see your sled has a turbo first thing they think is abuse. My old track faced some hard riding and on my old sled and they both have all the lugs at the end of the season. This track seems like it has not bonded and is flying apart. #1, im not currently in the state of mind to climb to much with happened to me at the end of last season, so I have not been climbing much of anything. #2, I had some tuning issues with the sled at the start and I did not have any excessive power to destroy a track. This track is simply a dud and Im the poor sucker that has purchased and installed it. Now I have to deal with it.

where did you buy the track from? heard of some issues with certain dealers selling camoplast tracks with known issues as new.....hope yours isn't one of them. I'm sure camoplast will make good on it with such low mileage, at least I would hope they do.

I know for a fact that Ron was itchin' to turn up the boost but choose not to because the track failed on the ride up on a groomed trail. when I saw him pull up to the cabin his cratchers were down so lack of lube was not the issue. The fact that I was at the cabin before him with three cherries tells you that the track saw no abuse on the way up. we left the staging area five minutes before his group.

The track was sold as a regular track and was not a blem, it is from a reputable sled modification shop that would not sell Blem tracks and is aware of them as well.

i thought that i had heard that peeps were getting really good deals on camoplast tracks and there was something wrong with them... Could this be the case here rk???

you're kidding, right?? You haven't seen this sled yet, then have you...... It has the best of everything on it, and no "cheaping" out anywhere on this baby............. We rode with ron all week, and i always follow the pack, in case there's problems, and i counted 4 blown lugs lying on the renshaw trail...... We had to cut off a huge piece, that simply delaminated.

I am wanting to put a 174x16x2.5 or 3" track on my 1000, but after seeing this, i will be reconsidering.......... Ron, did you take it back to the dealer today???

In my experience, warranty claims with camoplast have been quite painless and take under a week. Would the dealer not give you a replacement while waiting to hear, as this one is obviously flawed?

thanks, ff...... That's what i've told him too...... Demand another friggin' track in the mean time, because he paid big bucks to the dealer, and warranty goes through the dealer first, then through camoplast!!! I'd be pissed, that's for sure!!!!

I agree! I'd be dropping the track on the owners desk and saying "listen here pal, I didn't pay a cool g to have it fall apart on me!" If it were my customer, he'd have a new replacement track in less than a week- he doesn't need to see or deal with or even hear about the issues that I have getting warranty! Just my 2 cents. Specially considering sledding season I'd so limited!! Frick i'd be irate lol!

i agree with ya....... Same with us selling tires etc...... You don't contact bfg, you go through the tire shop first........just my 2 cents.

can you blame them? I mean really, the only reason in my feeble mind that I can think of that anyone should need a turbo is because they can ride the ch!t out of anything less and need more....just sayin. (© Bogger 2009.)
