8 tooth wont fit nor do you have enuff power to pull them.
lol yes he does. stock drivers were 9 tooth with a 159x2.25
soo it would pull an 8 tooth with a gearing change NO problem

Easy way to do it is get the 8th 2.86 drivers and order the 2.86 pitch camo extreme thats what i did on my 06 works great with 19/47 gears.
Have install quite a few on the '07's and it will fit in with 8tooth 3.0 pitch drivers(it's fairly tight) the other thing that you will need is some 5.6" wheels to replace the rear upper wheels. We did alot of these swaps in 07 and on.
me and glengine have been having this discussion in the rev forums. He claims it fits and works good. I am guessing there could only be hundreds of an inch clearence.
If anyone would know Glen would. You can also run the 8th 2.86 drivers with the 3 " pitch track. Before they made the camo extreeme in 2.86 pitch guys were running the 3" pitch with 2.86 drivers without any issues. and you will have lots of clearance. i have around 3/8 " at the cooler.
There is more to this than you might think. Think about this. If you only have room to move your track will the snow cause a problem for you? Trust me any measurement taken is while the sled is motionless. What do you think happens under full acceleration? Your track balloons.
I agree with you freak I don't think small fractions of an inch is a lot when the track starts moving. I think I would go the 7s myself, I think having the extra clearence to evacuate the snow would outweigh the efficiency of the bigger 8 tooth drive. Until Glen informed me that an extreme can be done with 8s I had never heard of anyone doing it. I thought it could only be done with 7s, I guess I learn something new everyday.
Ya well I can stick my head in between my 2.5 and my bulkhead.
